Tiago de Jesus Brás
Lisbon, 1983. He began his career in photography in the early 2000s, graduating from APAF (Portuguese Association of Photographic Art) with the Advanced Professional Photography course in 2005.
Between 2005 and 2007, he carried out several training actions on alternative processes, including Polaroid Transfer and Infrared, and completed the Advanced Black and White Laboratory Course organized by the Movement of Photographic Expression. (MEF)
Also in 2005, he traveled to Cádiz to participate in the documentary photography course at the Organización de Al-Linquindoi Tallers de Fotografia, guided by Maya Goded at the Associación de la Prensa de Cádiz, giving rise to an exhibition of the work carried out there.
On his return, he was invited to participate in Project_Lx, organized by the MEF, with the support of the Lisbon City Council, which gave rise to the exhibition of the work “Eduardo” at Estufa Fria de Lisboa, in 2006. Later, already in 2011 it was also exhibited in Sala 3 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
In 2006 he participated in the collective exhibition “DESTAPADA” at ISA (Instituto Superior de Agronomia).
In 2007, he returned to Spain to take a book editing and creation course with Jim Golberg (Agência Magnum).
In 2009 he was part of the group of Resident Artists at Espaço Ginjal/Útero.
That same year, he concluded a Project course carried out at the Atelier de Lisboa with José Gomes Oliveira, giving rise to the work MADE IN CHINA exhibited at the Pavilhão de Portugal at Expo Shanghai 2010 and later at the lLGBT INTERNATIONAL ARTS 2011 exhibition at the ARTE VISION gallery (Italy, Turin).
Since 2012, he has carried out work with a commercial aspect.
